With next gen consoles can we expect any authenticity checks on items in online play? duping and modding really killed the game experience for me on box 360, i like to play online multiplayer and but the 50 billion damage item mods on every player i ran into kinda killed it fast and i went back to PC pretty quick bc of it, now PC version is kind of dull at the moment and im excited for X1 release, hopefully with a fair experience with online multiplayer

That shouldnt be the only fix. The burden is on blizzard to actually fix the game the made we pay 60$ to play these games. They still havent even implemented a fix since launch on consoles and people will join our games and we cant even kick them. Its not right.
I really want to buy this game again for the new consoles but if the hacking and modding of items doesnt stop I dont see how I can enjoy this game. Even now the xbox 360 and ps3 versions have not been patched since launch. I fear that letting people transfer over will just keep this going. PLEASE blizzard dont let this happen.
Not much they can do about that since saves are local. Just report them, and get your friends to report them. I have 50+ Friends on my list and I got 32 replys from them saying 'OK' when i told them to report this hacker. I told em I was doing it he laughed. Week later I get a msg on his other account Calling me a !@#$%^ and such. >:) It may be a solo game or w/e but hacks and mods still don't make it ok.
blizzard cant do anything really since the stuff is saved on your system and you are not playing on a blizzard server.
the spreading of it will slow if not stop with RoS since every legendary is BoA. so the new legendary items should not be able to be hacked. if ya see someone with a high lvl legendary thats not boa it will be a dead give away that that its been hacked

i know that saves are local, and if you want to mod, hack and dupe in offline mode, feel free, my concerns regard online multiplayer, on 360/ps3 hacks were getting away online, which is against microsofts TOS and yet they went unacknowledged. Jumping on a MS server does a quick check (supposedly) to check for hacks, jtags ect, and ban the users during the next ban wave, there are simple security tools that can be implemented by MS on behalf of Blizz to do a check on on inventory and gear to make sure items are legitimate. Playing $500 for an Xbox One and $60/yr for gold live, and drop another $60 for UE Edition, I would think $620.00 would constitute such security

The only thing I care about is the hacked items. But like I said it's console and anyone with a bit of brains can edit items. Even if they do make them BoA. Simply report those with hacked items. And avoid them.
I like just using items that I find, or doing some light trading with friends, so it really isn't an issue for me. That's just how I like to play the game though.. With no auction house and loot 2.0, it's not so much of a problem.

Buyed D3 for my Ps3, selled some months ago due to this..no security at all, cheaters, no support after patch 1.0.2..totally abandoned.
I want to play D3 RoS on console, but not in this ashamed situation..no way, i prefer continue to play on PC.

kicking comes with RoS i do agree they need a fix to the modded and hacked items. i do hope they find a way to fix that.

it would be nice but, i dont think it would happen. the PC is online only. consoles is offline only. offline opens the game up to cheating. the only thing they could do is make it online only. then then that would fix most issues. but then that would remove the main point some people play on the console is for the offline mode.

Sadly very true, the internet has become too smart, it would be decrypted in a matter of days and a program released to the public with in weeks.
But back to my original point, if hackers want to play offline with hacked gear, let them, that does not affect me, its the online that bothers me. I like to play in random pub matches, to see builds and other players style of play, not to jump in a game to see some running T6 killing everything with their firewalkers bc they have a 3 socket Thunderfury dealing 100s of millions of DPS

Encrypting the save would nullify the whole purpose of local coop with friends.
